Blue Exorcist anime

  • IMDb Rating: 7.5
  • Director: Tensai Okamura
  • Writer: Kazue Kato
  • Streaming Platform: Crunchyroll

Probably one of the best shows I have ever seen. I watched it because of a recommendation from a friend. Finished the whole series after I watched every single episode in a row. Every question you could ask was answered.

The only one I have is “what do I do now?” You become instantly attached to Rin and Yukio and every main character. The final episode is very fulfilling and does not leave you angry that the creators left something out. It only leaves you yearning for more.

Blue Exorcist epitomizes everyone’s desire for adventure, strength, and acceptance, and that’s why people of every genre could enjoy Blue Exorcist. If you haven’t seen a single episode, I recommend giving the first couple of episodes a try. And once you start, you won’t be able to stop. Go watch it! Right now!

11. Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic

Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic

  • IMDb Rating: 7.8
  • Director: Toshifumi Akai
  • Writer: Shinobu Ohtaka
  • Streaming Platform: Crunchyroll

If you’re a fan of adventure, action, and fantasy, this is the perfect anime for you! Magi starts off with a clever premise, it takes parts from some of the characters in the famous “1001 Nights” tales and mixes them together in an original, exciting story that will keep you always wanting to watch the next episode to see what happens.

The animation is very good, and the dubbed voice acting is solid. If you’re familiar with dubbed Anime, you’ll recognize a bunch of the voice actors. Magi even has some good messages about friendship and choosing not to hate those who have hurt you.

Overall I would recommend Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic to any Shonen style Anime fans, Anime fans in general, and to anyone who just enjoys a fun, adventurous tale of fantasy and friendship.

10. Soul Eater

Soul Eater is a masterful combination of cool moments, funny moments, and touching moments. You’ll need a bit of time to get used to its world and its setting, but as soon as you do that, you’ll feel so happy there you wouldn’t want to leave it!

You’ll grow to love the antics of each of the characters, sometimes even to the point of laughing to tears.

9. Fairy Tail

fairy tail Anime

  • IMDb Rating: 8
  • Director: Shinji Ishihara
  • Writer: Hiro Mashima

Fairy Tail is the Greatest show I have ever seen Ever, It is SOOOOOO Excellent. Words are too earthly incompetent and humane to describe this amazing, most epic, the most awesome show ever. It’s funny, emotional, exhilarating, visually stunning, thrilling, exciting…….it’s everything good about this universe.

This show has changed my life and I absolutely adore it. It makes me cry every other episode, That’s how touching it is. I admire that no matter what odds they are up against, the characters of Fairy Tail never give up on their friends.

The characters are all so Freakin Awesome and Intensely Lovable. There is not one character I dislike in this show, I just find myself loving everybody. I highly recommend that everybody on this planet watch Fairy Tail. You will not regret it!

8. Bleach

Bleach anime Wallpaper

  • IMDb Rating: 8.1
  • Director: Noriyuki Abe
  • Writer: Tite Kubo
  • Streaming Platform: Crunchyroll

For anyone who enjoys action anime, this is the stuff to watch. Bleach revolves around Kurosaki Ichigo, a regular always-grouchy high-schooler who for some strange reason is able to see the souls of the dead around him.

Although they are not usually dangerous, there are some called ‘hollows’ that aim to eat the regular ones, and on one fateful night, his entire family is put in danger by them. A death god, Kuchiki Rukia, happens to be there to battle these creatures, and after a dangerous mistake, she is forced to give her powers to Ichigo in order to defeat the monster.

Henceforth, Ichigo has to take over her duties as a death god, protecting good spirits and other humans from hollows. The action in this series is stylish and fast-paced, and the storyline has you wanting more in almost every episode. Ichigo is funny because of his ever-grouchy personality, and his friends are just as hilarious in their own way.

7. Naruto

Naruto Shippuden

  • IMDb Rating: 8.3
  • Director: Hayato Date
  • Writer:  Masashi Kishimoto
  • Streaming Platform: Crunchyroll, Netflix

I have watched Naruto for about a year now and I have to say that it is one of the most engaging and developed anime shows ever. There are currently 300+ episodes, and 10 movies and all of them have something positive to contribute to the anime world.

The only thing that slows the pace down is the flashback episodes or the episodes where it is heavily based on dialog. The action in the show is fantastic and the animation in the show is done perfectly. But the one thing that makes this anime a cut above the rest is the music. With original recordings, the in-show music is the icing on this already delicious cake.

I highly recommend Naruto if you are looking for a deep, engaging anime show dripping in style and originality.

6. Yu Yu Hakusho

Yu Yu Hakusho

  • IMDb Rating: 8.5
  • Director: Noriyuki Abe
  • Writer: Yoshihiro Togashi
  • Streaming Platform: Crunchyroll

Yu Yu Hakusho is without a doubt, a classic. It was created by Yoshihiro Togashi, the brilliant mind behind Hunter X Hunter.

The 90’s aesthetics triggers a surge of nostalgia, making you want to watch it over and over again. Every single episode has a perfect blend of comedy and action. It is amazing how a show can be so humorous yet intense.

With the story arching over Yusuke’s growth as a fighter, it features the storylines of other characters that fill in subtly. Characterization is the show’s strong suit. All the characters that featured were thoroughly enjoyable, which, a few were compelling enough to keep the story fast-paced.

5. Boku No Hero Academia / My Hero Academia

My Hero Academia

  • IMDb Rating: 8.5
  • Director: Kenji Nagasaki
  • Writer: Kohei Horikoshi
  • Streaming Platform: Crunchyroll, Netflix

My Hero Academia is a Great Shounen Anime, especially for someone who likes battle shounen like HxH, Naruto. My Hero Academia is about a Quirkless boy ” Deku “, in a world of “super-power” to become the greatest hero ever. Mangaka is a big fan of Marvel/DC, so you’ll see similar characters like marvel superheroes in the series.

My Hero Academia cast is a grand of the troupe, the story revolves at a Superhero school, and you’ll see your common type of schoolmates (the rival, the crybaby, the lovely hello kitty, the formal guy, the silent, the joker, the manly, etc.) but as far as the series goes.

Can Deku become the greatest hero?

4. Demon Slayer

demon slayer

  • IMDb Rating: 8.7
  • Director: Haruo Sotozaki
  • Writer: Koyoharu Gotōge
  • Streaming Platform: Crunchyroll, Netflix

Kimetsu no Yaiba ( Demon slayer ) has a great story. In a nutshell, it’s about a guy named ‘ Tanjirou’  with a sister who was the unique survivor of a massacre of a demon to their family but she turned into one and it’s Tanjirou’s mission to find a way to return humanity to his sister.

Every episode is very well-detailed, the design of the characters, the background, and the landscapes. The drawing style is outstanding even in the little bonus at the end of every chapter. It has a strong and stunning opening that goes according to the story and an OST which remarks every important scene. Every character has their inner story, Tanjiro, and his family and the others with their past.

I really enjoy every episode of this. Although it sounds exaggerated it makes me feel alive with every sensation it gives to me.

3. One Piece

one piece 1080p

  • IMDb Rating: 8.7
  • Director: Tatsuya Nagamine
  • Writer: Eiichiro Oda
  • Streaming Platform: Crunchyroll, Netflix

One Piece is one of the best shounen anime/manga ever, the series starts off with a guy named Luffy whose ultimate goal is to become the one and only “King of all Pirates” and to find the greatest treasure in the world. The first episodes introduce him and some characters and make a lovely start that is entertaining and makes one want more.

On his way, Luffy meets a lot of very interesting characters who become his crew members and friends – each of them with an intense and captivating background story. Every character in this series – be it friend or foe – is either adorable, tragic, despicable, or interesting at the least… no boring characters anywhere.

Later on in the series, important events and story twists are often visualized or supported by huge appearances in the fabulous and unreal environments that our crew travels. This is perfectly done and helps the already epic feel of the story. This series has broadened my horizon in many ways and I recommend anyone to take the admittedly long time to get into this epic adventure.

There are of course some filler episodes in a huge project like this that won’t blow you away, but that is only natural with hundreds of episodes and helps to develop the characters.
